Ghosts Are Dancing

Commissioned as the closing show for the 2023 A.N.F.I. Teatar Festival in Kraljevo, Serbia. Adapted from the Greek myth of Hecuba and the surviving women of Troy, Michael began the process with a scenario, translated into Serbian by principal actor (Hecuba) Sara Gajović. Over an intensive ten-day period Michael, Sara worked with the members of Vladan Slavković’s theatre troupe Grupa Grupa, who formed the Chorus and played individual roles, using BoxWhatBox as a foundation for the physicalisation of the material. Performed before a capacity crowd on the banks of the River Ibar, Ghosts Are Dancing once again showcased the creative power of BoxWhatBox in performance.
